Every Gift Transforms the Community!

Attending college was always a goal for Merit. However, when she emigrated to the U.S., that goal seemed more unattainable to her. She felt lost and unprepared during the early years of high school.

Shoulder-to-shoulder with Merit’s teachers and guidance counselor, Freedom House supported Merit towards a path that made college more accessible to her. By attending Freedom House’s college classes through Bunker Hill Community College while still in high school, Merit was able to obtaining college credits but also expereince what a post-secondary jounery would be like.

“It feels great to be surrounded by people who care and are willing to help students and each other. The community feels like a safe space where everyone is heard, including those who are underrepresented.”

Merit learned valuable leadership skills during her time as a Junior Coach for the Summer Learning Insitutite and gained exposure to various career pathways that empowered her to dream about the future and her own unique journey to get there.

DONATE FROM A DONOR ADVISED FUND

null

A donor advised fund (DAF) provides donors with a centralized charitable giving vehicle. It allows philanthropically inclined individuals, families, and corporations to make an irrevocable charitable gift to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program and take an immediate tax deduction. Most sponsoring organizations of DAFs accept cash equivalents, securities, and certain other assets.
The DAF Direct tool will link you directly to your fund at Fidelity, Schwab, or BNY Mellon. We hope this tool makes it easier for you to support Freedom House
