Preparing Urban Students for Success in Higher Education (PUSH)

"Freedom House is filled with love and faith to take you where you want to be"

PUSH Programs at Freedom House serve students of color from marginalized communities in Boston, including first-generation college students and immigrants. Recognizing that these students often face a lack of resources and opportunities, we empower them with comprehensive support, equipping them with post-secondary planning, self-advocacy skills, and essential life skills to navigate their futures confidently.

Our holistic approach prioritizes academic success, social-emotional development, professional exposure, economic empowerment, and civic engagement. Through PUSH, students gain the tools and knowledge to overcome obstacles and thrive in all areas of their lives.

The results are powerful: our students not only graduate from high school but also achieve a 100% rate of pursuing post-secondary credentials. They inspire their peers and the next generation by breaking barriers and achieving their goals, all while cultivating a commitment to giving back to their communities.

PUSH High School

Building Pathways to Post-secondary Success

PUSH High School forms close partnerships with schools by embedding Success Specialists directly on campuses, allowing us to connect students with essential programs that prepare them for college. Our goal is to foster an academic culture where students start planning for college from the moment they enter high school. In collaboration with guidance counselors, our coaches actively recruit and enroll students into the PUSH Program, helping them build a personalized post-secondary plan.

Our Success Specialists guide students through key steps for college entry, including completing applications and securing financial aid. They ensure students understand the academic requirements needed to graduate from high school and meet college admission standards, setting them on a clear path towards higher education.
